Dr Ceri Hammond
Dr. Ceri Hammond is a Royal Society University Research Fellow, based primarily at the Cardiff Catalysis Institute. Prior to beginning his independent position, he spent periods at the chemical engineering department of ETH Zürich (postdoctoral research fellow with Prof. Ive Hermans, 2011-2014), and the chemistry department at Stanford University (research fellow with Prof. Edward I. Solomon, 2014-2015). He leads the Catalysis Engineering group at the CCI, which currently consists of 1 PI, 2 PDRA, 7 PhD and 4 MSc/BSc students. The group sits on the chemistry/chemical engineering interface, and specializes in (1) the development of heterogeneous catalysts, primarily for liquid phase applications, (2) advanced mechanistic studies of catalytic systems through in situ spectroscopy and micro-kinetic analysis, and (3) the intensification of catalytic processes.
